DR. FRANK ARGUELLO

Life and Work in His Own Words

I have devoted my life to finding an effective treatment for cancer. In 1981, at the age of 21, while I was in medical school, I watched helplessly as my mother suffered from gallbladder cancer at the young age of 49. Despite surgery and chemotherapy, she died in September 1982, nine months after the initial diagnosis. I made a promise to devote my life to helping in the search for a cure for cancer. My work in cancer research began in 1982, as a medical student, soon after the death of my mother to cancer.
