Desde los m\u00e1s comunes (c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n y de mama) hasta los menos frecuentes (como el c\u00e1ncer de am\u00edgdalas o el sarcoma card\u00edaco), es necesario conocer y comprender todos los tipos de c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tipos comunes de c\u00e1ncer: C\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Los dos tipos de c\u00e1ncer m\u00e1s comunes son el de pulm\u00f3n y el de mama. Seg\u00fan la Sociedad Americana Contra El C\u00e1ncer, el c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n ha sido responsable de aproximadamente un tercio de las 600.000 muertes por c\u00e1ncer en Estados Unidos. El c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n representa el 13% de los casos de c\u00e1ncer a nivel mundial. Existen tres tipos principales de c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n: c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas no peque\u00f1as (CPCNP), c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas peque\u00f1as (CPCP) y tumores carcinoides de pulm\u00f3n. Alrededor del 85% de los c\u00e1nceres de pulm\u00f3n son CPCNP, mientras que entre el 10% y el 15% son CPCP, y menos del 5% son tumores carcinoides de pulm\u00f3n. El tratamiento var\u00eda seg\u00fan el tipo de c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n. En cualquier caso, una de las mejores maneras de prevenir cualquier tipo de c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n es dejar de fumar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tipos comunes de c\u00e1ncer: C\u00e1ncer de mama<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El c\u00e1ncer de mama es el segundo tipo de c\u00e1ncer m\u00e1s com\u00fan. Si bien m\u00e1s del 99,1% de las personas afectadas por el c\u00e1ncer de mama son mujeres, menos del 11,3% son hombres. Despu\u00e9s del c\u00e1ncer de piel, el c\u00e1ncer de mama es el c\u00e1ncer m\u00e1s com\u00fan en las mujeres estadounidenses. Seg\u00fan la Sociedad Americana Contra El C\u00e1ncer, en 2018 se diagnosticaron aproximadamente 266.120 nuevos casos de c\u00e1ncer de mama invasivo en mujeres. Las mujeres en Estados Unidos tienen un 12,1% de probabilidad de desarrollar c\u00e1ncer de mama en alg\u00fan momento de su vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tipos de c\u00e1ncer menos comunes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Por cada tipo com\u00fan de c\u00e1ncer, existe una gran cantidad de c\u00e1nceres raros que afectan a un menor n\u00famero de personas. Un ejemplo son los sarcomas card\u00edacos. Estos tumores poco frecuentes pueden aparecer en la pared del coraz\u00f3n, en sus cavidades o incluso en su musculatura. Lo m\u00e1s com\u00fan es que los sarcomas card\u00edacos se presenten en la aur\u00edcula derecha, obstruyendo el flujo sangu\u00edneo. Esto puede provocar hinchaz\u00f3n en los pies y el abdomen. Los sarcomas card\u00edacos son muy dif\u00edciles de diagnosticar y tratar.
